There is not available tourist map of Bulgarian mountains more detailed then 1: 50 000.
If this scale is not enough for you I recommend you to use GPS device or a local guide.

Hi,
I'm visiting in Plovdiv over the coming months and would like to do some winter hiking while there.
I have a reasonable experience but will be travelling with limited equipment, and would like to do a couple of days hiking around the Narechen to Smolyan area.
I have been looking for a 1:25000 laminated map for the journey but am only finding the 1:50000.
Can you give any advise whether there are any 1:25000 available and where you can get hold of one
